We Are Paragon
Album: Chance of a Lifetime
Lyrics by Melissa Bianco
Mid-tempo pop-rock with bright guitars, tight drums, and warm, confident female vocals, carrying the team pride and quiet triumph of Paragon Studios.
Lyrics
We’d released many issues and CoV
But the whispers started to scream
I didn’t know, wasn’t in on the plan
Cryptic was breaking up the band
New project, they kept it underground
Funny how the past came back around
So now we were divided old and new
The CoH team and the new hero crew
But there was an offer, time to shine
Promotion and a raise, it was mine
Of course I said yes
I couldn’t leave this game
I’d be here till its dying day
We are Paragon
Scrappy and new
A handful of devs
Just a skeleton crew
Left Los Gatos for Mountain View
New warehouse you could skate through
After years online, felt like a startup again
New name, new plan, new everything
We buckled down, examined every last step
Keep content flowing, Mission Architect
We weren’t done, but not in vogue
Then we released Going Rogue
We are Paragon
Scrappy and new
A handful of devs
Just a skeleton crew
Around the time that FoxBat left
They handed me the show
I’d risen to Lead Designer
How much higher would I go?
Imposter syndrome was so strong
Would they learn they chose wrong?
Partnered with Art and Code Leads
Not about me, but what the team needs
We are Paragon
Scrappy and new
A handful of devs
Just a skeleton crew
There’s a time in studios, each dev knows
Right time, right people, and right roles
We had the magic, a super tight crew
We rocked the game with so very few
Next up: Praetoria, new universe
Up is down, bad is good, all reversed
A new world, a new regime
Goodbye War Witch, hello Sorceress Serene
We are Paragon
Scrappy and new
A handful of devs
Just a skeleton crew
We ramped up, we knew we should
Hired rockstars, little engine that could
We kept the game in content mode
We toed the line, walked that road
Every day we aimed for the stars
Maybe a moon base somewhere near Mars
So many ideas but we’re not there yet
New costumes, emotes, and power sets
We are Paragon
Scrappy and new
A handful of devs
Just a skeleton crew
We are Paragon
(Yes, we are Paragon)
